I was getting 5" groups with iron sights using the Vepr. I know there a re many way to correct that or least smooth it out. Also, the trigger on the M44 is much heavier than on my other Mosins. The sights will likely need to be adjusted. From 50 yards, I was getting 10" + groups, mostly to the left. Thanks for the suggestion to minimize barrel whip. That settled it down considerably and all I have to do to return it to original condition is loosen a couple of bolts and dump out the shims.īayonet in.
